Hi, I’m Erin McCoy, I am an instructor, a student, a tutor, and a writer. I currently live in Louisville, KY while I pursue my PhD in Humanities at the University of Louisville; my focus is the rhetoric of anti-Vietnam War music. I’m also finishing a graduate degree in Latin American studies, where my emphasis is on national songs and dances in Latin America. Aside from actively conferencing my doctoral projects, I have been published both academically and creatively.
I’ve worked in education for almost nine years, teaching students aged 6 to 60+. At this time I teach English in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System along with tutoring through Louisville’s Olga Peers Center.
When I’m not working or working on work, I continue my 11-year yoga practice, and I swim, run, and hike. I volunteer at the Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL), assisting Louisville’s ESL population, and I am a shelter volunteer at the Animal Care Society (ACS) of Louisville.
